The NSIHL provides the following pads needed to play the position properly:

• chest protector
• glove
• blocker
• leg pads

(In the lower age groups (Atom and Mite), goalie sticks will be provided.)

The equipment that each NSIHL goalie needs to bring with them to play the position:

• helmet with cage
• neck protector
• ice hockey pants
• jock
• skates
• stick

The NSIHL especially needs goalies in the Squirt, Peewee and Bantam divisions and provides full fee reimbursement after the season for goalies who play at least 80% of the team's games at those levels and returns the league's borrowed pads in good condition.
